a pinterest post

I don't often post things that don't have to do with the kiddos....but I wanted to post something about all the baking I did yesterday.  I tried out 3 new recipes from pinterest yesterday.  For all my Pinterest friends, these are all worth repinning! Matt has a board meeting this morning that I wanted to make some goodies for.  When we lived in NM, I would always make breakfast breads for the morning meetings that were in ABQ.  One of the benefits of this new job is that all of the meetings are in town... guess I'll get to try out more recipes.

First.  Bacon and Cheddar Scones.  The recipe actually called for green onions too, but with my husband being averse to any and all types of onions I chose to omit them.  The scones weren't as labor intensive as I expected them to be.  Very delicious and a nice change from the traditional sweetness of breakfast breads

Second. Low-Fat Blueberry Oat Muffins.  These are great and certainly don't taste low-fat.  They have applesauce and brown sugar and as much oats as flour and only 2 tablespoons of oil.  The recipe called for wholewheat flour, but I didn't have any and just used white.  The other thing I didn't have was my regular 12 count muffin pan....the joys of moving. I looked and looked everywhere and couldn't find it.  Luckily Matt had bought me a jumbo muffin pan for Christmas, so I made jumbo muffins.  These were a big hit at my house and I wouldn't miss the full fat variety!

Finally, Third,  Double Chocolate Muffin.  On the posting it said something about a copy cat of a muffin from whole foods.  I don't often frequent whole foods so I'm not sure about that.  These are excellent and very light.  The recipe calls to make them in the blender. you grind up oats, add egg whites greek yogurt and applesauce.  It called for artificial sweetener, but I just used sugar.  They were excellent, not too sweet but could definitely double as  a dessert.  YUMMY

Well that was our baking day yesterday.  Hopefully the board members will enjoy them today.  Luckily I made enough that I saved some of each at our house.  In fact, I think breakfast is calling.

Royals Game

Royals Game.

Oh man, what a night!  We had so much fun at our first Royals game as a family!  Grandpa and Grandma came up from Holton to go with us.  I was really looking forward to the game and even took the time to make the girls matching outfits!  Cami a pillowcase dress and Reese a ruffle bottom onesie!  I'll try and take better pictures of the outfits and post them later.
Here are the girls all ready to go and cheer on the Royals.  So precious!

Offically KC now!  Family Picture!

All 4 of us with Slugger!

Royal vs Yankees... it was a prett good game until about the 6th inning

Loving the game

Daddy and his Girls!  Can you tell he is a happy guy!

And here is the highlight of the game.  At every game they do a little contest for Hy-Vee (a grocery store) Fan of the game.  Everyone waves 2 fingers ( a V) and does little dances to get on the JumboTron!  Matt lifted Cami up and she was being her adorable self dancing away with her 2 little fingers up.  Sure enough there she was on the jumbotron.  Then at the end of the song she got chosen as the Fan Of The Game!  Pretty good out of 25,000 people!
A random guy behind us happened to take this picture on his phone.  That is Matt and Cami standing at the bottom part of the picture.  You can also see that they are on the Jumbotron!  What a priceless picture.  The guy then came down and showed Matt the picture and emailed it to us!  So Nice.  So greatful to have this picture of such an awesome memory!

Needless to say, Cami was tickled that she was up on the Jumbotron.  After the fireworks as we were walking out.... people were talking to us and saying to Cami "hi fan of the game"!  It was a once in a lifetime moment, I don't know how we'll ever top it!

Beautiful way to wake up

This morning was a good one for me and the girls.  First off, let me brag that my 8 week old slept for 5 hours and 15 minutes for the first stretch of her night!  That left mommy in a great mood this morning. We got up for the day about 7:45am.  I nursed Reese and laid her on my bed to go get Cami out of her room.  When Cami and I came back in to get Reese.  Cami wanted to say good morning to her sister.  I put her up on the bed and got these priceless moments.  The pictures aren't great because I just grabbed my phone really quickly.  Reese is so in love with her big sister....and honestly the feeling is mutual with Cam.

A catch-up post....my birthday

A Catch Up Post.

My Birthday.  My birthday has become somewhat of an after thought, I guess that is what happens when your first baby was born 4 days before your own birthday.  My focus (and everyone else's) is on her, which is just how I like it....especially since this birthday is the last in my 20's!

With moving day looming and packing in full swing I wanted something relaxing.  I had told matt that I just wanted to go out to eat and then we could go on a date in KC and celebrate then.  He surprised me by coming home with flowers and a Keurig!  I love my new coffee maker, definitely one of my favorite presents ever!

We then met our wonderful friends the Altman's at Chipotle for dinner.  YUMMY! Then we went to Krispey Kreme after for family night and a little desert.  Family night means that the kiddos got to decorate and eat their own donuts!  It was so fun and the girls had a ball!   The adults enjoyed the treat too!

First, getting instructions

Second, dip in Chocolate

Third, Cover in Sprinkles

Fourth, Enjoy with your Bestie!

Miss you guys!

part 1 of many: our new home

Our New Place.  This will be one of many posts introducing our far away friends and family to our new home.  We chose this place from the photos online and rented it without ever seeing it in person.  I guess that is what happens when you decide to move right after having a baby! ;)

Anyway, I am very pleased with our new home.  With anything there are a few draw backs, it is older and doesn't have as much linen and kitchen storage as I would have like.  On the plus side they repainted the entire place and installed all new flooring before we arrive! We are settling in nicely.  It is a townhouse in a large townhome community, it has 3 bedrooms 2 1/2 baths and a full finished walkout basement.  We basically live in the basement, that is where our section couch and ALL of the toys are. (and some storage)  Please excuse the quality of the pictures, I am still taking photos on my phone because I can't find our SD cards for the camera

So Here we go...
Here is Cami standing on our front stoop.  It is nice that we have our mailbox right on our front door.  Makes it easier for me to remember to check the mail everyday!

Our Pretty Girl

Here is the basement.  First, please excuse the mess.  Second, I took this photo prior to the second load of our things being delivered, so some things have been moved around a little.  But you can get a pretty good idea.  This is what I would consider our main living area.  It is so great to have one big room for playing, hanging out and family time

This is the view coming down the stairs.  As you can see the finished portion of the basement is an L-shape.  Cami and Reese definitely have an awesome playroom area now!
This photo was taken at the wall (of the L-shape).  This allows you to see how huge this room is!  That door is the sliding door that leads to a small patio area.  It has a concrete slab with gravel around.  We even have a nice tree!  It is perfect for the BBQ grill, a little bit of outdoor furniture and some toys!  The back gate also leads to the common area and straight out to the pool which we are literally right next to.
Here is the utility room.  Obviously it hold our extra fridge and laundry there is also a good bit of storage to the left of the fridge.  this room also holds the water heater and heater

Aside from keeping up with the two girls, I have been busy unpacking boxes.  I have also been doing some furniture shopping online.  I have been glued to my craigslist app on my iphone.  I have found some great pieces and I am anxious to show them off on my  blog...but that is for a later post.

I think I am going to break down and buy a new SD card today when we go to costco.....better quality pictures to come!

Cami's 3rd Birthday Party!!!

3 years old!  I can hardly believe it!  Our sweet Cami girl is growing up so quickly.  We decided that this year we would throw her a birthday party.  With the birth of her baby sister just shortly before her birthday, we figured a special shindig all about her would be great.  Little did we know that it would also serve as a last hurrah as we packed up an moved less than 2 weeks after the party.

It was so special to celebrate our little girl and get together with many of our friends and family that we will miss so much.

Because of the arrival of Reese, we opted for a birthday party somewhere other than at home.  thankfully we planned it this way as the house was being packed up and was a complete disaster!

We booked Cami's party at an educational play place called Red Light Green Light.  It is a perfect place for toddlers and preschoolers.  Lots of pretend play and art stuff.  It was perfect, all we had to do was show up and enjoy ourselves.

Reese is 6 Weeks Old Today

I can't believe that it has already been 6 weeks since Reese Jilleann joined our sweet family. It has been a whirlwind and with everything else going on I definitely haven't savored these sweet baby moments as much as I should have.

She is a super happy and content baby. She's a great nurser and good sleeper, getting up to eat 2 times per night. She loves her sister and automatically turns her head and looks at Cami whenever she is around.
