Cami's Halloween Pictures

I decided to re-look at all of the pictures of Cami from past Halloweens.  That is the greatest part of holidays is that you are guaranteed to have at least one picture!  Here is one picture from each of Cami's Halloweens.

new pictures of the girls

As I am sure most people can relate to, our second baby hasn't had as many pictures taken of her as we did with Cami.  I blame it on the extenuating circumstances of the last 6 months rather than on parental negligence.....we'll see if she buys that in 15 years.  Anyway, so I have been desperate to take some photos of the girls and some family shots.

We went to Matt's folks this past weekend.  They live on a beautiful piece of property and this is one of the prettiest times of year.  So I packed us some 'nice clothes' and told my niece to expect to be put to work.  Peyton has an eye for anything artistic so I volunteered her for the job of taking our photos.

So here are the 2 most beautiful little girls ever!  I'll put up more as we have time to go through them and photoshop a few.  But these were so good straight from the camera I couldn't wait to share them!

Thanks PQ for sharing your wonderful talent!

Mothers Together Playdate

Mother's Together is the wonderful mom's group at our church.  It is similar to a MOPS type group.  It has been such a blessing to me since our move.  The women have been so welcoming to me. We are in the middle of our MT session which meets wednesday mornings, but we also have other activities that are fun and more social in nature.  This was especially fun for me, as I was able to connect with ladies outside of the table I sit at on Wednesdays.

Anyway, This monday, we met at Deanna Rose Children's farmstead.  I'm sure you guys are tired of reading about this place.  We love it there, and it is only open until the end of the month so we are trying to take advantage while we can!
Its not easy getting 6 three year olds to sit for a picture

Cami's turn

After we had walked around the farm, we went across the street to a park and had a picnic and played.  We had a GREAT time!  So much so that my kids both napped!  Thanks to Meghan for organizing such a fun play date!

A Cold Fall Saturday

The first full weekend in October was cold. Colder than usual that is, it was our first light freeze.  Of course we had a zillion things planned, so life went on.  Saturday morning we started out with soccer.  It was around 38 or 39 degrees when we started, it was overcast, so it didn't get much warmer.  The kids were troopers.
On our way.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Later that afternoon, there was a Color Run in Lawrence.  My sister-in-law Jill and I decided that it would be a fun sibling bonding deal.  We had a great time, despite it being about 50 degrees at race time.

A special thanks to Grandma, Grandpa and Nana for watching all the kids at a local McD's while we raced.  Fun activity with the fam....should we make it an annual event???

Time with Nana

My mom decided to drive out here with her little dog.  It was so fun to have them here with no other agenda but hanging out. We did some exploring in and around the KC area.  We went to a bunch of places that we had wanting to take Nana to.  It was so fun.  Matt and I were even able to go on a date....the first real date we had been on since we have been here in KC. Thanks again mom for watching the girls.

Reese didn't enjoy Kaleidoscope as much as Cam did

One day we went out to a mall in Olathe.  They have a driver's license bureau and a fun place called Monkey Bizness.  So while I was waiting to get my KS drivers license Nana and Cam had a great time playing.

don't worry, she's not squishing her, she is keeping her from rolling away

We didn't just play, play, play everyday, Nana was a good sport and she let me put her to work.  She shampooed the carpet in our town home and did all the laundry.  It was great to have her help.  I will admit it was a bit of a transition to get used to doing things all by myself again.  Love you mom.  Looking forward to Christmas!

Hanging with Grandma

So while the guys were off at the Ryder Cup, the girls and I went to hang out with Grandma in Holton. We got to go to Kids Choir with Paige and Parker (which Cami loved), we crafted, Cami got to visit Parkers class, play outside and overall we all got spoiled by grandma.  All in all a great time!

Blog Neglect

I know, I know.  I always say that I am going to be a better blogger and I never am.  Life just seems to never slow down.  Since I blogged last, soccer is in full swing, Mother's together started, Cami had swimmers ear, Matt, Eric (his brother), their dad and dad's best friend went to the Ryder Cup, we went to Holton, and my mom came to visit.

Also, as if that wasn't enough RJ is now 7 months old and moving and grooving.  She started 'army crawling' as soon as we got back from Chicago and has not stopped.  I'm hoping this weekend I can take a few shots of her by herself to post.  She is sitting up and pulling up too.  Although the pulling up is new and she certainly isn't an expert yet.  The little booger is brave and wants to do everything her sister does.  She is already keeping Matt and I on our toes, luckily Cami is a big helper (alerting us when RJ is getting into trouble)

Fall is upon us here in the Midwest and it is FANTASTIC!  I mean really amazing.  I am completely in love with this season.  Having never lived in a place that has boasted a real fall before I am taking every once of beauty in.  The air is crisp, light jackets are a must (we even had an early freeze), we have taken in a fall fest, hoping to visit a pumpkin patch in the coming weekends.  I have made pear butter, pear baby food and pear sauce.  Soups are a staple and the scent of homemade bread has been filling our home.

I'm in the middle of trying to find a photographer to take some family photos. I'm also hoping to capture  some of this gorgeous fall foliage all around us. Trees, Trees beautiful Trees!
