Our big 1 year old

Reese is 1!!! How did that year go by so fast?  I will post a blog of our start to our birthday month (C's birthday is later this month and we are celebrating the kids birthday together with a party).  Here she is with daddy at the Zoo on her birthday.  What a fun day celebrating a fun little girl!

Its amazing for me to think how a single day can truly change your life.  I have been fortunate enough to experience this in a positive manner several times in the past 10 years.  The First time I met Matt. When he asked me to be his wife.  When we found out we were pregnant with Cami.  The day she was born.  The day we found out we were pregnant with Reese.  And a year ago...

Our sweet Reese came into this world a year ago.  It honestly has been the fastest year of my life.  I can't believe it.  She has been such a joy to us.  We have seen her grow and develop her very own personality.  She made Cami a big sister, a role Cami loves and is excellent at!

Reese is now walking, into everything, talking a little and wants to do everything her sister does....did I mention she is a little ornery?  We love her so much and are so thankful that God put her in our Family.

We love golf!

We Love GOLF!  We really do love golf.  It is our livelihood, Matt's favorite sports pastime, its how we met and we have raised our kiddos around it.  Cami has been to more national championships  & USGA events in her short 3 1/2 years than most people attend in their lifetime.

Anyway, every year here in KC there is a golf industry show.  The KCGA has a booth promoting itself, tournaments and foundations.  This year they ordered shirts for the staff to wear to promote their booth.  Knowing that the girls and I would be there Matt ordered us some too.  What's a better way to draw attention to your brand than advertising with a couple of cute kids???
I had to alter Reese's shirt as it was the same size as Cami's.    Who knew I had a perfect orange headband in my stock pile!

Here we are.

Cami's favorite part of the show was going to the snag golf booth put on by the Midwest PGA section.  Cami did great and loved it.  She went every single day we were there.

The last day the snag golf folks were doing a presentation about snag golf.  They asked Cami if she wanted to be the demo kid.  They had know idea she was only 3.  It was incredible how well she did.  She was on stage listening and doing what she was told for 20 + minutes.  She did so great!  I was SO proud of her.

Our little Athlete.

In the past few months, Cami has shown a lot of promise and interest in sports and athletics.  She is tall and athletically built.  Most people think she is a kindergartener.  Anyhow, lately she has been very interested in basketball, baseball and golf.  We do 'batting practice" in the basement with her fisher price bat and ball set.  Matt pitches to her and she can really hit it.  In fact, we started with pitching a tennis ball to her, she started hitting it so hard we are now having to use a hollow plastic ball.

It's been great this winter playing baseball in the basement.  It's been a wonderful active game when its too cold to go outside.  We are members of a great community center here in OP.  It has an indoor pool, workout facility with day care and play area and gyms.  Most of the time we go "gym & swim" meaning that in the evening we drop the kids off at the day care area,  MAtt and I go and workout together and then we all go swimming as a family.  It is so fun and the girls LOVE it.  Its great for us too!  Cami always sees the guys  in the gym area playing b-ball and had been wanting to do that too.  So we decided that we would play ball a couple of times rather than swim.  Right now she is working on dribbling and passing back and forth to daddy, but she has a great time doing it.  We have since bought her a "Cami Size" basketball that she brings to practice with.

Last weekend we helped Matt at the golf show.  Cami loved it because she got to play snag golf the whole time.  She did SO great.  She even got to be the volunteer during the talk about snag golf at the show.  She is showing some real interest and talent in golf.  I am sure you all can imagine how happy daddy is about that!  I'll try and find some pictures of us at the golf show for my next post!

Snow, Snow and More Snow

Well, this desert girl has gotten a taste of a real winter this last week.  WOW!  This all started last week.   The first storm blew in early Thursday morning.  It was dropping 2-3 inches per hour at times.  Matt got up to check everything at 6:30 and said that it had barely started sticking.

this is the picture after about an hour of snow.

This is at about 1-2pm
This first storm dropped about 12 or so inches of snow very quickly.  It pretty much shut things down on Thursday.
I made these Blavaclava's for Matt and Cami.
The plows came in our parking lot  and cleared our parking lot.  Its great that it is a benefit of living in an apartment style community.  The only bad thing is that I ended up having a 3 1/2 ft snow drift behind my car.  It took me about an hour to dig the car our on Sunday morning. Thanks to our friends the Claycamps for lending us a couple of shovels, since they were sold out all over town.

A little melting happened sunday.  Here is some playing over the weekend

Our next winter storm came Monday night/Tuesday morning. They were forecasting upwards of 18inches in some parts of the city and possible power outages.  luckily we only got about 10 inches here.  We had a few flickers of power surges, but nothing major.

Here is a bobcat hauling snow into a huge truck and they hauled it away.
