Mommy and Nana's little shopper. Mom and I went to the mall while they were here. We actually went so I could get my eyebrows waxed. While I was at the salon, mom and Cami were exploring Macy's. Mom happened upon a really good sale. So I met them back at Macy's...needless to say we ended up with 2 bags worth of stuff. As we were leaving Cami decided that she had to carry our bags for us. Yes, we did get several funny looks as my 19 month old was doing the heavy lifting!

Fall Family Photo

Our Newest Family Photo!!!! This is our fall family photo...and don't be surprised if you see this on our Christmas card too.

We went with Libby's parents out to the Bosque did photos. Our very good (and talented) friends the Altman's took our photos. We then 'paid' them with dinner to Outback and had a great evening!

Our little girl is getting so big 19 months old already!

Dixon's Apple Farm

Dixon's Apple Farm. Dixon's is an Apple Farm touting mountain grown apples North of Albuquerque. When I was a child, my parents and I would go every year. I have very fond memories of not only the apples but the experience.

Dixon's is a waiting game. Starting in Sept. you have to check their website and find out when they will be opening. I'd like to say that this is a treasure that I only know about, but that is definitely not true. Thursday was opening day, according to the evening news the wait was 2 1/2 hours on opening day.

A group of friends decided we would all go the same day. In our vehicle, Michele and Lexie & Nairne and Liliana. We met Kaitlyn & Olivia and both livie's grandma's up there as well as the Burgess Fam. Needless to say there were a bunch of kids.

The drive went smoothly until we were about 1/2 mile out, then traffic stopped and we were essentailly parked on this tiny dirt road waiting to get in the parking lot. We drove almost an hour for these apples and were not about to give up now. Not to mention I was driving our new excursion and there was no way I was going to be able to turn that sucker around on that tiny road! After waiting 25-30 to arrive, we were there and saw an even longer line. Here are some pictures documenting the experience. WE had so much fun!!
Waiting to get into the parking lot. Cami and Lexi, we'd all had just about enough of being in the car.
Waiting in line before we got out of line to bag our own apples. Owen, Cami, Lexi and Liliana.

Hanging in the Wagon that Michele brought for the girls. A godsend, when the girls were tired of sitting in it, it doubled as an applecart.

Liliana and Cami posing near pumpkins. Cami called them apples.

Picking out apples to take home. This was so much better than in waiting in line for pre-bagged apples. Cami loved reaching in and putting them in the bag....and sampling.

sampling the delicious apples.

more sampling
After picking, bagging and sampling we sat at a picnic table and ate some of the treats from the snack bar. Apple Fritters....YUM. Overall, we had a wonderful time and were exhausted by the time we drove home. Definitely a great tradition and as much fun as I remember from my childhood.

A few (older) pictures

Cousins Paige and Parker with Cami

This picture makes me laugh. Paige had been doing cartwheels in the grass. Cami was watching her intently. Then Cami bent down put he hands on the grass and stayed there. When she stood up she clapped for herself and the 'cartwheel' she had done.

Aunt Jill and Cami. For those friends and family who always ask who I think Cami looks like...well I always say her Aunt Jill.

Parker driving Cami around in the power wheels. So sweet how Parker is checking on his cousin.

So talented....Cami is playing piano with her feet!

Feeding the cows.

With Papa.

Riding the big John Deere Tractor with her Papa

Taking a bath with sweet Baby Josh. Cousin bath time. Such a sweet picture, by the time we are back together they probably won't fit in the sink together.

Our life ...right now.

Well as many of you know we have been very busy.

We returned from a very important meeting and golf tournament this past monday. Things went very well. Now Matt will have more on his plate, but we are thankful for the new challenges and blessings coming our way.

We are now enjoying a very rare summer weekend off. No Tourney...No Meetings....Nothing. And of course Cami and I both have ear infections. Luckily neither of us is feeling too bad. We are however laying low. This is fine with Matt as he doesn't get to spend much time 'do nothing' at home this time of year.

We are gearing up for a few more busy weeks. Next weekend, SCAGA is hosting the Mid-Am Championship. After this championship, we only have 2 more events on the Amateur schedule (not including qualifiers). On Sept. 1st Matt will be competing in the Mid-Am Qualifier. We are really hoping and praying that he qualifies and we all get to go to NY. I will do my best to keep everyone posted on the qualifier.

That's whats going on with us

Congrats to Matt

Just thought everyone should know....

Matt has been picked to represent NM at the USGA State Team Championship. This will be his 3rd State Team appearance in a row and his 13th USGA championship. We are very excited. This is an event that we look forward to every year. For those of you who don't know, every two years the USGA holds this event. Each state sends its top 3 players (excluding collegiate athletes) and the states compete against each other. Last year we went to St. Louis for the event. I don't think Cami and I will be going this year.

The event is Sept 14-16th. Matt and the rest of the team will be heading to Santa Rosa, CA soon. You should be able to follow the event. Go to USGA.org and you should be able to follow the links from their to the State Team website.

Past couple of Weeks

Hey everyone. Sorry my posts have been so sporadic. July was a whirlwind. Cami and I traveled to KS to see our Family. We were there the 4th thru the 12th. We had a wonderful time (aside from missing Daddy of Course). Cami enjoyed her cousins, rode on the golf cart and tractor, swam at the Holton Pool, and of course got spoiled by her grandma and papa. I am hoping to find the pictures I took while we were there?!?

After we returned from KS, we left the next day to help Matt with the NMWT Amateur. We drove down to El Paso. Luckily we were able to stay with my mom and dad. I know...from one grandparents house to the next! Cami was really spoiled this 2 weeks! :) The tournament went well. Thanks so much to my mom and dad for helping us out with Cami so that I could be at the event helping out.

After that we had the Junior America's Cup. This is a very prestigious Junior Golf Event. We at the SCAGA/SCPGA hosted this year. It is a huge undertaking. It may have been the busiest and most exhausting week of our year....maybe even our life. Cami was a trooper. Her and I spent a lot of time at the golf course (10 hours straight one day) and in the car transporting players. She never had a fit or fussed once. It was truly remarkable that our 15 1/2 month old can be so well behaved. We were so proud of her. Besides that she was entertaining captains and playing with some of the players. After 5 long days, we were glad to see that event come to an end. Matt was able to take the next few days off and spend with us at home. One of the things we did was go to the zoo.

Here are a few pictures from our adventure to the Zoo.

Mommy and Cami in front of the big cats exhibit. I believe there was a huge snow leopard pacing back and forth. Not sure if we caught it in the shot.
She missed Daddy so much during the JAC, she was really loving on him this day!

Elephant exhibit.

Elephants are Matt's favorite exhibit at our zoo, luckily they were out showing off today.

At the Zoo. Cami was much more interested in checking out the Giraffe than smiling for mommy.

Overall we had a great weekend after our crazy busy week.
Now as August is already upon us, we have a couple more very busy weeks ahead. Matt is playing in a local event at UNM this weekend. Sunday- Monday is the Players Championship. Then next weekend we are off to Truth or Consequences for the Challenge Cup and a very important board meeting.
